The honeycomb

I was staying at Petes in Marylands Rd a couple of days going back a bit. True to form Pete knowing that I am a New Zealander with a penchant for honey generously went out to Fortnum and Masons and bought a special honey comb of honey all beautifully wrapped which cost pete about 6 quid, unknown to me. Come breakfast time after the English veggie bumper cooked in the kitchen and a carafe of coffee sufficient to curl the toes of a heavyweight champion, Pete unveiled the honey with the toast. As one does in New Zealand i spread one half of the honey comb on a slice of toast and promptly demolished it complimenting Peter on his fine taste in honey, not clocking the significance of the fact Petes eyes were as wide as saucers.

He never did let me forget about that and often we laughed till tears rolled down our cheeks.
